Berlioz- Roman Carnival Overture (soloist, TBD) Stravinsky- Firebird Suite (1919)
Our first concert opens with the exciting Berlioz overture, and concludes with Stravinsky's dance masterpiece, the magical and mysterious suite from the ballet, The Firebird.

PROKOFIEV- Peter and the Wolf Menges Scholarship Winner, pianist Ellen Morris, guest soloist.Narrated by Sally Starr!

9 year old pianist Ellen Morris joins the orchestra to play Mozart. Ellen was one of the winners of this year's Menges Scholarship. The orchestra will also perform Prokofiev's magical children's tale, Peter and the Wolf, to help introduce young people to the instruments of the orchestra.

MACDOWELL- Piano Concerto No. 2 Clipper Erickson, piano TCHAIKOVSKY- Symphony No. 4
Clipper Erickson, one of our most popular soloists, will return with the beautiful and romantic piano concerto by the late 19th early 20th Century composer Edward MacDowell. The concert will conclude with the fiery Symphony No. 4 by Tchaikovsky.

HO ZHAN HAO/CHENG GANG- The Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto Millie Bai, violin
RIMSKY-KORSAKOV- Capriccio Espagnol and popular favorites
A rare treat, Ho Zhan Hao and Chen Gang's Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto is rarely heard in the US, but is a beautiful concerto inspired by an old Chinese love story. The concert will also feature the Rimsky-Korsakov Spanish Caprice, and will conclude with a variety of popular favorites.
